CSconnectis an initiative of The Cleveland Alliance to support regional suppliers to major northeast Ohio employers. The aim is to provide affordable, expert support to local suppliers to help them meet the ever increasing demands of their northeast Ohio customers.

Why do we call it a Supplier Involvement Program? We want to encourage companies to involve their suppliers in quality improvement as they would their employees. Employee Involvement: is work improvement with an emphasis on using a wide range of quality methods including communications and changes in work culture, as well as work redesign. Supplier Involvement is supply improvement with an emphasis on using a wide range of quality methods including Lean Manufacturing methods.

CSconnect Supplier Involvement Program

Our preferred approach to winning participants to the CSconnect Supplier Involvement programs is as follows.

  1. Get an introduction to a supplier through their major northeast Ohio customer.

  2. Interview the supplier to assess their needs.

  3. Develop an initial engagement proposal to meet those needs.

  4. Gain the suppliers endorsement for that proposal.

  5. Solicit funding from the supplier, the customer and/or grantors vested in supporting the economic development of northeast Ohio.

  6. Deliver the required services with the supplier as TCA's customer/client but with reporting also to funders/grantors.

  7. After the initial engagement is closed out, any subsequent proposed work would be from TCA to the supplier.

What is an initial engagement? Typically an initial engagement would involve assessment and planning (in response to the assessment). The needs and urgencies of the supplier would guide definition of a customized initial engagement.
